I earned my bachelor's degree in the field of English from Vassar College and am now working toward my master's degree in the same field at the Bread Loaf School of English. Following school, I earned my certification to become a high school English teacher. I have worked as a student teacher for high school freshmen and also tutored many junior high and high school students. I have a strong enthusiasm for teaching and try to make all of my lessons engaging and fun for the student. I think students are more likely to grasp the material if they can get excited about learning it. I also find it very important to develop a personal relationship with each student so I can better understand what works for them and relate the material to their lives. This also helps build trust and confidence in the students. I can teach subjects from all across the English spectrum, including Grammar, Literature, and Essay Writing. I am also comfortable helping student as they prepare for the English sections of standardized tests like the SAT. In my free time, I enjoy reading, skiing, cooking, and visiting the beach.
